Question 1

What is The Glove SOS?

Accepted Answer

The Glove SOS is a nationwide network connecting baseball and softball players with trusted glove repair specialists. We help players find quality repair services for their beloved gloves — fast.

Question 2

How does the On Deck Glove Map work?

Accepted Answer

Our interactive locator map shows verified repair specialists near you. Enter your zip code or allow location access, and you'll see shops sorted by distance. You can filter by services like relacing, conditioning, or full restoration.

Question 3

Is The Glove SOS available in my area?

Accepted Answer

We're growing our network nationwide! Use our On Deck Glove Map to see repair specialists in your area. If there aren't many near you yet, check back soon — we're constantly adding new providers.

Question 4

How do I get a quote for glove repair?

Accepted Answer

Find a repair specialist on our locator map, visit their profile, and click 'Get Quote'. Fill out the form with your glove details and contact information, and the specialist will reach out to you directly.

Question 5

Is there a cost to request a quote?

Accepted Answer

No! Requesting quotes through The Glove SOS is completely free for players and families. You only pay the repair specialist directly for any services you decide to have done.

Question 6

How long does glove repair typically take?

Accepted Answer

Repair times vary by service type and provider. Simple relacing might take a few days, while full restorations could take 1–2 weeks. Each provider lists their estimated turnaround times on their profile.

Question 7

What types of gloves can be repaired?

Accepted Answer

Most providers can repair baseball gloves, softball gloves, catcher's mitts, first base mitts, and even some training gloves. Check with individual providers for specific capabilities.

Question 8

What services are available?

Accepted Answer

Common services include relacing, leather conditioning, web repair, palm padding, binding/welting replacement, and full restorations. Each provider lists their specific services and specialties on their profile.

Question 9

Can you fix a glove that's been neglected for years?

Accepted Answer

Often yes! Many of our specialists are experts at bringing old, dried-out gloves back to life. Full restorations can address leather conditioning, relacing, and structural repairs.

Question 10

Do repairs affect the break-in of my glove?

Accepted Answer

Quality repairs are designed to maintain or improve your glove's break-in. Experienced specialists know how to work with the leather to preserve that perfect pocket you've developed.

Question 11

Why isn't the phone number or email address clickable on some listings?

Accepted Answer

Listings showing plain, non-clickable contact info are on The Walk tier — our free discovery listing. These providers have been found through public Google searches but have not claimed or verified their listing on The Glove SOS. Clickable contact info, quote requests, and direct messaging are features reserved for paid members who have signed up, confirmed their information, and are actively managing their listing. To get in touch with a Walk provider, write down their phone number or email address and contact them directly.

Question 12

What information can repair shops see about me?

Accepted Answer

When you submit a quote request, the repair shop receives your name, email, phone number (if provided), and the glove details you entered. Your information is only shared with the specific shop you requested a quote from — never sold or shared with other parties.

Question 13

Do I need to create an account?

Accepted Answer

No account is needed to browse shops or request quotes. We keep it simple so you can find help for your glove as quickly as possible.

Question 14

Can shops that use steam, microwave, or oven break-ins join?

Accepted Answer

No. TheGloveSOS does not list shops that break in gloves with steam, a microwave, an oven, or any heat. Heat dries out and cracks leather, damages the padding and lining, and metal parts or glue can catch fire. Every applicant must confirm they use hand and mallet methods only.

Question 15

How do I join The Glove SOS network?

Accepted Answer

Visit our Pricing page and choose a membership tier that fits your business. Complete the provider intake form, set up your profile, and start receiving leads from players in your area.

Question 16

What are the membership tiers?

Accepted Answer

We offer four tiers: The Walk (free listing with no quote requests), The Lace Job ($10/mo with 3 quotes/month), The Coach C ($25/mo with 10 quotes/month), and The Cleanup ($50/mo with 20 quotes/month and premium visual features). Every quote beyond a paid tier's monthly limit costs $5. The first 50 shops to join lock in Founding Provider pricing — 50% off the monthly fee for life ($5, $12.50, and $25/mo). Annual plans save an additional 20% and are billed as one upfront payment.

Question 17

Can I upgrade or downgrade my tier?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Contact us to change your plan. When you upgrade, your higher monthly quote limit is available immediately, but the new monthly plan price is not charged until the beginning of the next calendar month. Downgrades take effect at the beginning of the next calendar month.

Question 18

What is The Walk tier?

Accepted Answer

The Walk is our free listing tier. Businesses found through our weekly Google search process may be automatically added as Walk listings — even if they haven't signed up directly. Walk providers appear at the bottom of search results below all paid tiers. If no paid providers are found near a customer, Walk listings will appear at the top. Contact information is shown as plain text only — not as clickable links. To unlock click-to-call, click-to-email, quote requests, and full profile features, upgrade to The Lace Job or higher.

Question 19

Why isn't the phone number or email address clickable on some listings?

Accepted Answer

Listings showing plain, non-clickable contact info are on The Walk tier — our free discovery listing. These providers have been found through public Google searches but have not claimed or verified their listing on The Glove SOS. Clickable contact info, quote requests, and direct messaging are features reserved for paid members who have signed up, confirmed their information, and are actively managing their listing. To get in touch with a Walk provider, write down their phone number or email address and contact them directly.

Question 20

How does the Founding Provider discount work?

Accepted Answer

The Founding Provider discount takes 50% off your monthly subscription fee for life. This discount applies only to your subscription charge. Founding Glove Shops lock in $5 per quote beyond their monthly limit for life.

Question 21

Is the Founding overage rate locked for life?

Accepted Answer

Founding Glove Shops lock in $5 per quote beyond their monthly limit for life.

Question 22

How many Founding Provider spots are available?

Accepted Answer

Only 50 spots are available across all tiers. Once they're claimed, the program closes permanently. Early movers also get a permanent regional ranking advantage — Founding Cleanup subscribers are ranked above all future Cleanup subscribers in their area.

Question 23

How do I receive customer leads?

Accepted Answer

Quote requests are emailed straight to you (we keep a copy for tracking). You'll receive email notifications for new leads so you can respond quickly and close the sale.

Question 24

What happens if I exceed my monthly quote limit?

Accepted Answer

Every quote beyond your paid plan's monthly limit currently costs $5. Founding Glove Shops lock in $5 per quote beyond their monthly limit for life. These are tracked and invoiced at the end of each billing period. If your overage balance reaches $100 before month-end, we'll invoice it right away.

Question 25

Do I get charged if a lead doesn't convert to a sale?

Accepted Answer

The $5 quote fee is charged regardless of whether the customer books a repair. Leads are opportunities — it's up to you to close the sale.

Question 26

What does the gold border and 'Premium' badge look like?

Accepted Answer

Cleanup-tier providers get a distinctive gold (#B8860B) border around their listing card, a 'Premium' badge in the top-right corner, and the option to set brand colors that tint their listing background. These visual upgrades make your shop stand out immediately in search results and the map view.

Question 27

Can I add my company logo to my listing?

Accepted Answer

Coach C and Cleanup tier members can display their company logo on their listing card and profile page. If no logo is uploaded, your business initials are shown in a branded badge instead.

Question 28

How does search ranking work?

Accepted Answer

Listings are ranked by tier, then by distance from the searcher. The order is: Founding Cleanup providers (always first in their region), then Cleanup, Coach C, Lace Job, and Walk. Within each tier, the closest shops appear first. This means higher tiers get significantly more visibility.

Question 29

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept all major credit cards. A valid payment method must be kept on file to receive quote requests.

Question 30

When am I billed for overages?

Accepted Answer

Every quote beyond your paid plan's monthly limit currently costs $5. Founding Glove Shops lock in $5 per quote beyond their monthly limit for life. Overages are invoiced at the end of each billing period. If your overage balance reaches $100 before month-end, we'll invoice it right away.

Question 31

Could pricing or quote limits change in the future?

Accepted Answer

Standard membership prices, quote limits, and overage rates may change as The Glove SOS grows. Founding Glove Shops keep their lifetime subscription discount and their locked $5 per-overage-quote rate.

Question 32

Is there a setup fee?

Accepted Answer

No! There are no setup fees, hidden costs, or long-term contracts. Sign up today and start receiving leads.

Question 33

Can I cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can cancel anytime. Your listing will revert to the free tier, and you'll lose access to quote requests and premium features.
